Tomoe Japanese Cuisine

Beside famous Korean cuisine Auntie Kim’s Restaurant, there is another restaurant which is often full house for dinner time – Tomoe Japanese Cuisine. So tempted by the full house normally that I set my mind I must come to try. Came during weekday lunch but there were barely customers, business weren’t that good compared to dinner time.

♥♥ Tempura with Sashimi & Sushi Set (I requested replacement of rice with udon.) *Shochu [Hot Sake] not included.

This barely made the mark except the fact that chef allowed the more variety of japanese food in 1 bento itself. The Maguro sashimi was fine, probably ♥♥♥ on its own. Tempura and Yasai Tempura was worth only ♥♥, not deep fried long enough. Salad had the combination with Kani (crabstick) which didn’t quite fit in, could do without. Sushi didn’t make a statement, was very average considering its a sole Japanese food restaurant. Udon in soup was served only warm and tasteless. Generally, quantity won over standard of food.

♥♥♥♥  Yakiniku Set

Pan-fried yakiniku served with sweet shredded cabbage is a must-have if you come here for lunch. This set about $10 and definitely value for money. Taste is good, meat absorbed the sauce well and wasn’t tough. Would appreciate if they gave more sliced pickled radish.

♥♥ Salmon Sashimi

Look out for special offers not in the menu. We had the promotional Salmon Sashimi at $6 only. Generous thick slicing but not the best freshness a Japanese restaurant should offer when it comes to raw fish.
